Special experiences at Parque das Aves

The park offers small-group behind-the-scenes experiences, including access to bird nurseries and exclusive trails, as well as feeding opportunities. These must be booked at least one day in advance. Tours are available in both Portuguese and English. While we didn’t book one of these experiences, and still enjoyed our visit very much, we did see a group touring the park. The feeding opportunity in particular looked like a lot of fun.

Even if you don’t pre-book the behind-the-scenes experience, you can still participate in feeding the birds. At the parakeet enclosure, you can purchase sticks encrusted with birdseed and interact with the brightly-coloured birds as they nibble away.
